Kendal Mountaineering Services offers canyoning as an activity in the Lake District, Cumbria. Canyoning could be described as ghyll scrambling for the more adventurous. Canyoning involves descending and abseiling (also known as aquaseiling) down waterfalls or if the pools below are deep enough, to jump down into the pool.
Typical Lake District venues for canyoning include Church Beck near Coniston, Stickle Gill in Langdale, Rydal Beck near Grasmere, the Esk Gorge in upper Eskdale and Stoneycroft Gill near Keswick, but we also know of other excellent but less well known venues.
You are guaranteed to have a great time and get very wet. This is a great activity for the summer months. We provide all technical equipment, appropriate wet weather gear and a hot drink!
All you'll need to bring is a change of clothing and a fleece jumper to wear next to your skin. Canyoning is great as part of a multi-activity day used in conjunction with climbing or a canoeing / kayaking session here in the Lake District and all can be part of a stag or hen party.
